Piermont, New York is a sweet and easy daytrip destination. It is only a 40 minute drive from Manhattan and has a sizable municipal parking lot. This town was recommended by several people on my facebook mommas page. Here is my review.
What’s to eat in Piermont, New York?
3:00 is a strange hour to eat, but the many cafes were still bustling with people. I like a town that features all day dining! There were so many diverse choices on the town’s small Main Street. We saw Moroccan, American, Asian…we decided on a restaurant recommended in this article (sent by my friend Aly).
Sidewalk Bistro is a lovely cafe that had both street dining and a garden in the back. The food came quickly and was delicious! Of course, a stop at Piermont Creamery had to follow our meal. They had interesting flavors and Nina and Renato gave them a thumbs up.
What else can we do here?
We passed a few shops and galleries during our walk, but the highlight of our day was walking through a painted pedestrian underpass and emerging at the Hudson River. For us city folk, this small “beach” was heaven! Nina and I searched for seaglass while Alex perfected his stone skipping skills.. What a great break from out city lives!
Alex called this town “peaceful” and I agree that this is a perfect adjective to describe our day. Thanks Piermont, New York for a great Daytrip!
